BLACKSTONE- Peter J. Lesperance, 77, of Blackstone, MA passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the Radius Healthcare Worcester with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of Jeannine C. (LaBonne) Lesperance.
Born in Blackstone, MA on July 6, 1934, he was the son of the late Ovila and Mary (Reilly) Lesperance. He was the father of Steven Lesperance and his wife Paula of Northbridge, MA, Kevin Lesperance of Pennsylvania, Wayne Lesperance and his wife Tammy of Uxbridge, MA and Linda Bedard and her husband Dave of Dudley, MA; his 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Joe Lesperance of Florida, Louis Lesperance of Blackstone, MA, Paul Lesperance of Vermont, Chris Lesperance of Florida, Anna Lavallee of Blackstone, MA and the late Ovila Lesperance, Melvina Goulet, Mary Robinson and Louise Shields.
A lifelong resident of Blackstone, he worked as a bulldozer operator for Bella Construction Company of Wrentham, MA for many years until retiring in 1990. He was a blacksmith, loved horses and enjoyed gardening.
Funeral will be held with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM on Saturday, February 4th at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun Street, Blackstone, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Village South Plaza, 473 South Street West, Unit #13, Raynham, MA 02767.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cartier's Funeral Home, Bellingham, MA.
