BLACKSTONE, MA- Harry Joseph McMichael, 63, died Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge, MA.
He was born in Fall River, MA and was the devoted and attentive son of the late Harry X. and Virginia (Accica) McMichael. He was a lifelong resident of Blackstone, MA.
Mr. McMichael was a 1966 graduate of Mount St. Charles Academy, Woonsocket, RI and attended Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. He worked for New England Telephone for 28 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of Country View Country Club for many years, a member of the mens bowling league at Walnut Hill Bowl for several years and a lifetime member of St. Pauls Church in Blackstone, MA. Mr. McMichael was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, reading science fiction books, cooking and dining out. He was also philanthropic and gave to many charities and organizations.
He was a loving and generous brother and is survived by 5 siblings: 3 brothers: Robert V. McMichael of Washington, DC; James McMichael of Smithfield, RI; John C. McMichael and his wife Sue of Val Rico, FL; 2 sisters: Ellen E. McMichael of Smithfield, RI; Ann V. Ruscitti and her husband Nicolas of Hopedale, MA; and his nieces and nephews Jonathan and Amanda McMichael, Elizabeth Ruscitti, and Marc and Ryan Montecalvo.
Mr. McMichaels funeral will be held at 9:00 am Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from the James E. Kellett and Son Funeral Home, 38 Main St., Blackstone, MA followed by a mass at 10:00 am in St. Pauls Church, St. Pauls St., Blackstone, MA. Burial will follow in St. Pauls Cemetery, Gaskill St., Blackstone, MA. Calling hours will be Monday, February 6, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 pm.
