BLACKSTONE- Gertrude M. (Deragon) Martinelli, 86, of Blackstone, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife for 68 years of Louis J. Martinelli.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on April 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Aram and Evelyn M. (Lamontagne) Deragon.
She was the loving mother of Constance M. Boisvert and her husband, Robert L. of Woonsocket, RI, and Claire M. Boiteau and her husband, Edgar L. Jr. of Bellingham, MA. She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Jason Boiteau, Robert Boisvert, Catherine Boisvert, Michael Boisvert, and Timothy Boisvert; and her great-grandchildren, Amber and Alexis Boiteau, Johnathan and Sophia Boisvert. She was the sister of the late Hubert, Aram, Roland, Theodore and Edgar Deragon.
A resident of Blackstone for 68 years formerly of Woonsocket, and she worked at Windslow Leather Company until retiring and formerly worked at Narragansett Knitting and General Electric in Asland, MA. Mrs. Martinelli has been a life long communicant of St. Louis-All Saints Church and she was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann of the parish. Mr. & Mrs. Martinelli were married on October 23, 1943 in St. Louis Church. She was an avid sewer, knitter, and enjoyed crocheting, crafts and cooking. Devoted to her family, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 8th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at All Saints Church, Rathbun St., Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday, February 7th from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude/tribute.org
