Helene A. Fontaine
BURRILLVILLE- Helene A. Fontaine, 84, resident of Nasonville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at her home.
Born January 15, 1928, she is a daughter of the late Albert and Alexandrina (Trudeau) Garneau.
Helene was a self-employed hairdresser for many years, working in such salons as Helene's of Woonsocket and later Corner Beauty Shop, where she enjoyed the company and gossip from her clients right from the luxury of her own home. While working at Helene's, Helene had met her husband to be, Jean, who worked right next door at Deguire's Market on Social Street. All it took was just one look, and they could see that they were meant to be, and on June 26, 1954, Helene and Jean became one. They were the love of each others life and continued to remain so until Jeans unfortunate passing in 1993. Helene loved her kids, grandkids and friends unconditionally. She was a real social butterfly. Helene loved to do puzzles, play cards and board games with everyone, but she especially loved to play Rummikub with her good friend Pauline. Helene was also very religious. She was a member of St. Theresa's Congregation and attended church faithfully.
She is survived by a son John Fontaine and his wife Paula of Harrisville; a daughter Anna (Fontaine) and her husband Gary Moreau of Smithfield; 3 grandchildren, Nicole Williams, Michelle Charpenter and Alexandra Fontaine; 3 great grandchildren, Nayomi Miller, Keegan and Konner Williams and 1 great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by a sister, Anna Kline of Santa Barbara, CA.
Her funeral will be held Monday, March 5 at 10AM from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenfield Road, North Smithfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Theresa's Church on Dion Drive in Nasonville. Burial to follow at St. Theresa's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, March 4 from 1-4PM.
