BURRILLVILLE- Robert "Papa" G. Rainone, 78, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday March 5, 2012 at his home in Harrisville. He was the husband of the late Eleanor (Kearney) Rainone.
Born in Providence he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (DeFalco) Rainone.
Bob was the Owner of Rainone Enterprises for more than 30 years, he also worked Construction for many years and for the Town of Burrillville DPW. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1956, he was a past president of Burrillville Jr. Hockey League, member of Burrillville Summer Fest, member of Burrillville Ambulance Corp, an honorary member of Western Hill Auto and also a member of Townsmen Club Pitch League. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and also was involved in all Burrillville youth sports programs.
He is survived by a son Robert Rainone Jr. of Providence, six daughters, Linda Hopkins of Harrisville, Brenda DeSandolo and Anna Huguenin both of Florida, Patricia Davis of Pascoag, Terri Rainone of Pawtucket and Bonnie Coski, of Nasonville, a brother Ronald Rainone of Florida, seventeen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and his dear friend for the past five years Zoe Ames. He was predeceased by a son Robert Kearney, and a brother Richard Rainone.
A funeral service will be held Friday Mar. 9, 2012 at 10AM from the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Pascoag. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8PM. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in his name to Home and Hospice of RI, 1085 North Main St. Providence, RI 02904-9826.
