Daun Alan White

MANNING, SC - Daun Alan White, 62, formerly of Glocester, husband of 42 years to Karen Rose (Orcutt) White, died February 24, 2012, at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia.
Born December 21, 1949, in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Lester Leroy White and the late Gladys Elizabeth (Thompson) White. He was a veteran of the US Navy, a retired Pawtucket Police Detective where he was a member of SWAT, the honor guard, and a past president of his Fraternal Order of Police lodge. In Manning, he was a member of Player's Course Golf Club and served on various committees at Wyboo Plantation.
He is survived by his wife of Manning; three sons, Daun A. White Jr. and his wife Julie of Jefferson, NJ, Kyle R. White and his wife Kim of Johnston and Erik B. White and his wife Tasha of Providence; a brother, Gerry White and his wife Sharon of Ovieda, FL; two sisters, Ellen Prescott and her husband John of Orlando, FL and Cynthia DuLong and her husband Marvin of Stoneham, MA; six grandchildren, Tori, Keira, Daun III, Maura, Gavin and Travis; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland St., Lincoln, with Rev. Jeffrey Hooker officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
Memorials donations may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police Foundation, 328 Massachusetts Avenue, North East, Washington, DC 20002.
