BURRILLVILLE- Richard J. Worcester, 91, of Burrillville, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Overlook Nursing Home in Pascoag.
He was born September 9, 1920 in Pascoag, son of the late Richard and Florida (Goujon) Worcester.
He was the loving and caring husband to the late Jennie (Jasinowski) Worcester.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Pascoag. When called to the line of duty, he had proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. In 1984, Richard had retired from the former Worcester Textile Company in North Providence, where he was a laborer. Richard was also a member of the Keegan Dinagen Post #1023 in Pascoag.
Richard is survived by a daughter, Marjorie McCarthy and a son, Richard Worcester, both of Pascoag; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 4 sisters- Anna Garrity, Cora Flynn, Alma Steere and Elizabeth Krouse. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers- William, Edmund and Arthur Worcester.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at 10:30AM at Saint Josephs Church in Pascoag. Burial to follow at Saint Patricks Cemetery in Harrisville.
At the request of the family, calling hours and flowers have been respectfully omitted.
