Mary Evelyn DesRochers
BELLINGHAM- Mary Evelyn (Gariepy) DesRochers, 95, of Bellingham, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Landmark Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born in Woonsocket on October 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Aram I. and Mary Elizabeth (Mulligan) Gariepy.
She was the loving mother of Kathleen A. Pelland and her husband, Gerald of Englewood, FL and Christine Danieli and her husband, Michael of Tiverton, RI. She leaves her cherished 5 grandchildren, Kimberly Brite, Kevin Pelland, Christopher Pelland, Adrian Danieli and Alexis Emond; and her 8 great-grandchildren, Ryan Brite, Lauren Brite, Brynn Pelland, Brianna Durfee, Gabrielle Emond, Paul Emond II, Maxwell Emond and Catarina Danieli. She was the sister of Anne A. Martel of Woonsocket, Veronica T. Wynne and her husband, Stanley of Manville, and the late Joseph Leo Gariepy, Rita E. Hallock, Winifred F. Minot and Eileen Gariepy. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born and raised in Woonsocket, she was a resident of Bellingham for most of her life. She was employed as a Sales Representative for New England Telephone Company for 40 years until retiring and was a member of the Pioneers Club. She was a communicant of the former Assumption Church in Bellingham and more recently St. Charles Borromeo Church in Woonsocket. She loved crossword puzzles, reading and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral will be held on Friday, April 13th at 10:00AM from CARTIER' S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 190 North Main St., Woonsocket, RI. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Visiting hours are on Thursday, April 12th from 4 to 7PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
