NORTH SMITHFIELD- Lillian A. (DeMello) Poirier 87, of Mendon Rd. died Tuesday at Rhode Island Hospital. She was the wife of Victor A. Poirier Jr.
Born in Pottersville, MA she was a daughter of the late Emile and Annie (Nazareth) DeMello.
Lillian was the housekeeper at St. John's Parish for six years retiring in 1980. She was a member of the choir at St. John's Church, an entertainer with "Caravan of Cheer" and loved to crochet.
Besides her husband she leaves a son, Victor A. Piorier III of Middleboro, MA a sister Frances Lacroix of Nasonville, a granddaughter Ashiya Cabbage and great -grandson Damion. She was also the mother of the late Ronald E. Poirier and sister of the late Emile DeMello, Evelyn Arruda, Lara Lanagan, Lena Brousseau, and Florence Brilhante.
Her funeral and visitation will be held Friday at 9:30 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. John's Church in Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Please visit
