SANTA FE, NM- KENNIS RAY BERARD, 70, of Santa Fe entered eternal life Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Las Cruces.
He was born October 16, 1941 in Hampton Road, Virginia.
Kennis served his country honorably as a Captain in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the State of New Mexico as an Administrative Law Judge and was a communicant of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe.
Those left to mourn his passing include a son, Kennis R. Berard Jr. and wife Carina of Las Cruces; three brothers, Dan C. Berard of Largo, Florida, Norman F. Berard of Decatur, Georgia, Raymond B. Tucker of Panama City, Florida; a sister, Charlene Maguire of Bluffton, South Carolina. Other survivors include his former spouse, Frances McCollum of Las Cruces; three grandchildren, Eric, Bryan and Ashley Berard as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola M. Berard; father, MSgt. Raymond F. Tucker and adoptive father, Dr. Jean Charles Berard.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, April 16, 2012 at 12:45 in the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe Street with Deacon Juan Martinez officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by an Air Force Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family is rquesting donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at www.pancan.org.
