SAN ANTONIO, TX- Eleanor M. Gauthier, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in San Antonio, TX where she was living with her daughter.
She was born February 2, 1921 to John and Anna Mazur in Ware, Massachusetts.
Eleanor served her country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during WWII. She and her husband, George E Gauthier spent nearly all of their married life in Woonsocket. They were both faithful and active members of Sacred Heart Church; and Eleanor was also the Church Secretary there for several years. She returned to Gilbertville MA following George's death, where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lay Reader and a faithful volunteer at St. Aloysius Church. Eleanor was known by many as the Butterfly Lady.
She was preceded in death by, her husband George E. Gauthier; brother, Walter Mazur and sister, Lillie Duval. Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Linda Harris (Jim) and Margaret Gauthier (Bart Trocki); sisters, Genevieve Bycenski, Helen Biatek and Margaret Mikus; grandchildren, Todd Harris (Rosanne) and Trevor Harris (Heather); 6 great-grandchildren, Shayla, Cody, Zach, Dillon, Noah and Sean and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mass Of The Resurrection, Saturday, April 21, 2012, 10:00 A.M., ST. Aloysius Catholic Church, Gilbertville, Mass.
Interment will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery, Gilbertville, Massachusetts.
