Local results from Boston Marathon

April 16, 2012

Pawtucket's Brendan Doyle was one of many local runners who braved the unseasonably mild temperatures that comfronted those who participated in Monday's Boston Marathon.

BOSTON — Hilary Dionne, a former cross-country and track & field standout from Cumberland High School, finished 15th among women at the Boston Marathon Monday, crossing the finish line in 2:51.56. Her time was third-best among American winners. Dionne, who now works in Boston, graduated from Cumberland in 2003.
The 26-year-old Dionne averaged six minutes, 19 seconds during the first 6.2 miles of the race before shaving off five seconds over the next three-plus miles of the grueling 26.2-mile test of endurance and stamina. She ended up placing 256th overall and 11th in her age group (18-39).
Pawtucket native and St. Raphael Academy graduate Brendan Doyle was clocked at 3:06.57, good for 841st place. Close behind was Cumberland’s Jason Reilly (3:07.32, 897).
