North Smithfield High School students Megan Lefebvre, Emily Richards and Derek Kruzan, from left, join other freshmen in a car wash at the school this past Saturday. The car wash was held to benefit their April 27-May 1 trip to Washington, D.C. for a ‘We the People Honors Government’ national competition. The 36 freshmen in teacher Natalie O'Brien's American Government class won a statewide competition to compete in the national event — the only freshman class in the nation to do so. They will compete with senior classes from all over the country.
