It was in San Francisco, where she met the love of her life and husband of 53 years. At 42 years old, having raised her family, she rejoined the workforce and worked with her husband at Winde-McCormick Laminates, serving as finance manager. In 1976, Dorthy and her husband, Frank purchased Stiller Distributors, a wholesale floor covering company, where she served as financial officer for 40 years. She was still working at the time of her death along side of her son Mark, current owner and CEO of Stiller Distributors.
Dorthy was a prolific writer sending cards and letters, keeping in touch with family and friends across the country. She loved her weekly calls from family and looked forward to vacationing relatives stopping through Rhode Island while touring the East Coast. In 2011, she realized a lifelong dream and traveled to India to see the Taj Mahal. She loved to read, listen to music and especially loved watching her New England Patriots on TV. She volunteered in local elementary schools, actively participated in administrative duties at church and remained charitable throughout her life. She will be sadly missed by many.
