DOUGLAS, MA- Alexander, Albertus, E., Jr., "Joe", 67, of Douglas, MA, passed away Thursday May 10, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Olney) Borders-Alexander.
Born in Glocester, RI, a son of the late Albertus E., Sr. and Ethel (Rich) Alexander.
He was a Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Alexander was a carpenter for most of his life, last working for K.B. Rafferty in Douglas, MA retiring in 1992. He was a past president of Whitinsville Fish & Game Club, a former soccer & little league coach in Douglas, MA, a former detail police officer in Glocester, RI , co-owner of the Autumn Days Labs and an avid hunter.
Besides his wife, he was the father of Patti Ann Deieso, Albertus "Buddy" E. Alexander, III, Joseph V. Alexander, Julie M. Alexander and the late Lisa Ann Stilkey; step-father of Randy Borders, Gary and Jeffrey Olney. He was the brother of James, Jammie and Jessie Alexander, Jean and Linda Hingley, Tammy Malone, Billie Jo Welliver, Jackie Beauvais, Tina Contois and the late Penny Ducharme, Judy and Jody Alexander; grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 1. Also survived by his faithful dogs Sassy and Gracie.
Visitation Monday 4-7pm in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt.44) Greenville, RI, with a service to follow at 7pm. Inurnment with military honors will be in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet Tuesday at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to American Lung Association will be appreciated.
