WOONSOCKET- Rita M. (Donati) Delasanta, 101, of St. Cecile Ave. died, Thursday May 17, 2012 in the Trinity Health Center, with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Duelio Delasanta.
Born in Pesaro Italy, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Catherina (Mengarelli) Donati. Rita came to the United States at the age of two, and resided in Woonsocket since that time.
She worked as a Baker for Leo's Bakery for 17 years prior to retiring.
She was a former member of the Italian Workingmen's Club, St. Joseph Senior Citizens, and the Marchigiano Club.
Rita was an avid bowler and she loved to cook.
She is survived by two daughters, Velma and husband Normand Auclair, and Sandra and Henry Renaud, both of Woonsocket. Five grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was also the sister of the late Edith Nardini.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday May 22, 2012, at 9 A.M. from the S. Dipardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Anthony's Church, Greene St. Woonsocket, Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery Cumberland, R.I. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Monday from 5-8 P.M.
