WOONSOCKET- Mary K. (Walsh) Girard, 69, of Woonsocket, died June 6, 2012 at her home in Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Roland P. Girard.
Born in Millville, MA, Mary was the daughter of the late Richard V. and Katherine T. (Whalen) Walsh.
She was a CNA and later a medical technician for Woonsocket Health Center for many years. She will be fondly remembered as an outgoing great mother who was all about family.
She is survived by two sons Brian S. Girard and his wife Patricia of Woonsocket and Gary A. Girard and his wife Mariane of Woonsocket, three daughters Barbara A. Glode and her husband David of Belleview, NE, Beverly J. Girard-Provost and her husband Philip of Woonsocket, Brenda L. Girouard and her fiance Jeffrey L. Martel of Woonsocket, three brothers Richard Walsh of Millville, MA, Patrick Walsh of Uxbridge, MA, Philip Walsh of Tampa, FL, one sister Margaret Taft of Mendon, MA, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth Walsh.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Agatha's Church, 34 Joffre Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Calling hours are Monday from 4 - 7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
