PAWTUCKET – After spending the past two months crisscrossing across the country, Rakim Sanders is about find out if hard work does pay off.
Sanders will watch Thursday night’s NBA Draft in his native Pawtucket, surrounded by family friends. The Fairfield University product wound up performing in individual workouts before the following pro franchises: Brooklyn, Sacramento, Golden State, Dallas, Phoenix, Houston and the Los Angeles Clippers.
A 6-foot-5 swingman, Sanders is considered a fringe prospect at best. He was not invited to the NBA's sanctioned Chicago pre-draft camp, but that doesn’t automatically rule him out of draft consideration.
“He remains very excited to see what lies ahead (Thursday night) and beyond,” said Brian Samuels, Sanders’ agent.
