Mariette Varieur

EAST PROVIDENCE - Mariette Varieur, 86, of East Providence, formerly of Woonsocket, died Friday, June 29 at Waterview Villa. Born in Lincoln, she was the daughter of the late Ulysse and Marie Anne (Desjardins) Gousy. Mariette was the wife of the late Leo R. Varieur, to whom she was married for sixty four years.
Mariette had been a sales clerk in the former McCarthy's Department Store and had been a volunteer for the Arc of Northern RI.
She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Normand Varieur and his wife Doris, Joseph Varieur and his wife Lucienne, Roger Coutu and Marcel Dulac, as well as many nieces and nephews.
On Tuesday, July 3rd, her Mass of Christian Burial will be proceeded by visitation from 8:30-9:30AM in the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland Street, Woonsocket, with a procession to St Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland for Mass at 10:AM. Burial will follow in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
