WOONSOCKET - Vincent J. Vito, 100, of Bailey St., died July 2, 2012 in The Holiday Nursing Home, Lincoln. He was the husband of Eva D. (Gianco) Vito. Born in Providence, Vincent was the son of the late Carmine and Philomena (Calce) Vito.
He worked as an inspector of nurseries and woodlands for the Department of Environmental Management. Mr. Vito was a WWII Army Veteran.
Besides his wife, Eva, he is survived by their son, Carl Vito and his wife Judith of Cumberland; two granddaughters Carla Abbenante and Kristen Vito both of North Kingstown; and three great grandchildren, Nina and Luke Abbenante and Jamerson Vito-Silva. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Elisa Marreria, Alba Piazzetta and Aballonia Vito all from Italy.
His funeral will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 beginning with visitation at 10 AM with a service at 11 AM in The Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farm St., Blackstone, MA.
