Man charged with sexual assault on three young girls

PAWTUCKET—Following an investigation of a complaint, a local man has been arrested on numerous sexual assault charges involving three young female family members, Pawtucket Police said.
Jose A. DaCruz, 55, of Waterman Street, Pawtucket, turned himself in to police on Tuesday after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to Major Arthur Martins. Police began an investigation after a complaint was made on July 9. The incidents, which took place in Pawtucket, involve three victims who are all under the age of 14 and who are related to DaCruz, Martins said.
DaCruz was arraigned Wednesday in Sixth District Court in Providence and charged with one count of first degree child molestation sexual assault (forcible rape), and six counts of second-degree child molestation (forcible fondling). According to court records, he was ordered held without bail pending a July 24 hearing.
