DOGGED PURSUIT

August 7, 2012

Woonsocket police officer Jason Berthelette looks back to see a North Smithfield police K-9 dog hot on his heels during an attack demonstration with North Smithfield K-9 police Lt. Jared Salinaro, during the National Night Out at River Island Park in Woonsocket Tuesday. The event, which takes place in cities and towns all over the country, is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Woonsocket Police Department and Woonsocket Safe Communities. National Night Out was conceived as a vehicle for law-abiding citizens to tell criminals to get out of town.
