BLACKSTONE, MA - Therese M. (Marcotte) Brodd, 86, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Beaumont Nursing Home in Northborough, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold E. Brodd.
Born in Woonsocket, RI on July 11, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Blanche (Surprenant) Marcotte.
She leaves her daughter Claire Hood and her husband, Douglas; and her granddaughters Kristen and Nissa Hood, all of Blackstone. She was the sister of Raymond Marcotte and his wife, Irene of Bellingham, MA, Laurent Marcotte of Pinellas Park, FL, Robert Marcotte and his wife, Doris of Bolton, MA, Rene Marcotte and his wife, Simone of Lisbon, CT and the late Claire Marcotte.
She was a former longtime resident of Blackstone and formerly of Woonsocket where she was raised and had worked at area woolen mills. She was a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment Association and the Blackstone Senior Center. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and floral arranging. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Friday, August 24th at 10:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 Noon at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting time from 10 to 11:30AM at the funeral home prior to Mass. Relative and friends are invited to attend.
