WOONSOCKET — A 23-year-old city policeman who has been suspended without pay and charged with felony assault allegedly choked his 9-year-old sister, according to reports released by the Woonsocket Police Department Wednesday.
Two sisters were at their father’s house when the 9-year-old went downstairs where Patrick Cahill was watching television and asked if she could go outside, according to the report.
The alleged victim told police Cahill began yelling at her and chasing her as she ran outside. She said she tried to hide in a car, but Cahill grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back in the house, where he threw her on a sofa, put his hand around her chin and began “squeezing really hard,” the report says.
