SLATERSVILLE- Hirondina "Olida" (Souza) Lemire, 92, of Slatersville, died August 23, 2012 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket. She was the wife of Raymond E. Lemire.
Born in Slatersville, RI, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Sophie (Medeiros) Souza.
Mrs. Lemire was a tester at the former Amperex Company for 20 years, retiring in 1982 and had previously worked at Slatersville Finishing for 10 years. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church and its Ladies Guild.
Besides her husband, she leaves her daughter, Deborah A. Sweeney of Stamford, CT and many nephews and nieces. Mrs. Lemire was predeceased by her brother, Manuel Souza and her sister, Mary Souza.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2012 beginning with visitation at 8:30AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 63 Church St. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Friendly Nursing Home, Patient Activities Fund, 303 Rhodes Ave, Woonsocket RI 02895.
