BELLINGHAM- Bernard R. Cyr, 68, of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at home with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband for 40 years of Muriel S. (Tessier) Cyr.
Born in Woonsocket on March 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Florence (Boisvert) Cyr and step-son of the late Lillian (Blais) Cyr and Doris )Lataille Cyr.
He was the loving father of Timothy J. Cyr of Bellingham; and his cherished granddaughters Hope and Adrianna. He leaves his sister Lorraine Decelles and her husband, Normand Decelles, Sr. of Burrillville, RI, the late Jacqueline Cyr; step-sisters Diane Cyr and her fianc, Don Berthelette of Woonsocket, and Pauline Groleau of Blackstone, and step-brother Paul Girouand and his wife, Michelle of Bellingham.
A resident of Bellingham for 40 years formerly of Woonsocket and a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1960. He worked for both Dennison and Avery Dennison Company in Milford, Holliston and Framingham for 39 years until retiring in 2003. In the Milford location he was an IT Technician.
He was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran and received the Sharpshooter Badge. He was a ham radio operator with CMARA - Central Massachusetts Amateur Radio Association with call sign W1CYR. He also served as a little league coach in the Bellingham Town League.
Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, September 1st at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Blaise Church, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham. Interment will be at Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket.
Visiting hours are on Friday, August 31st from 5 to 8PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations to the St. Blaise Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, 1158 So. Main St., Bellingham, MA 02019 would be appreciated.
