UXBRIDGE — After searching for hours, investigators recovered the bodies of a woman and her young daughter from the charred rubble of an 18th century farmhouse near the West Hill Dam Tuesday morning.
The victims were identified late yesterday as 45-year-old Suzanne Donovan and her daughter Fini, 6, who started the first grade a few days ago.
They were killed when a fast-moving inferno transformed their home into an unrecognizable heap of blackened cinders and debris about 10:30 p.m. Monday.
As he stood in a downpour, against the backdrop of the still-smoldering ruins around midday yesterday, District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. told reporters that one body, reportedly that of a child, had been found.
The discovery of the mother's body came a few hours later.
