UXBRIDGE- Robert William Drtina, 54, of Uxbridge was killed in a motorcycle accident on Sunday September 2, 2012 within 200 yards of his home while riding with his very good friend; who is broken hearted at the loss.
Mr. Drtina was married to Barbara E. McGuinness-Drtina.
Robert was born in Philadelphia, PA to Arnold and the late Jacquelyn (Wileman) Drtina.
Bob was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Web Industries in Holliston, MA. He was a 1977 graduate of Pennridge High School. Bob loved his Philadelphia Eagles, Harley-Davidsons and his cat Xaoming. As well as an avid car enthusiast, he loved his friends and enjoyed his garden. Mr. Drtina was also a social bowler at Shrewsbury Lanes. Robert devoted much time and energy to raising thousands of dollars for the American Lung Association; a cause for which he was very devoted.
Mr. Drtina will be sorely missed by his loving wife, his son Robert W. Jr., and daughter Brandi all of Windsor, CO; his wife's children William, his wife Kirsten; and Mandie all of Woonsocket, RI.
Robert is also survived by a brother Jon, his wife Amy, and their daughter Caitlin of Missouri and brother Thomas of California. Robert had five adorable grandchildren Alyssa, Owen and Blake of Windsor, CO and Kapri and Braedyn of Woonsocket, RI.
Bob had many dear friends who always stayed by his side, among them, Christina M. Thomas of Ashland, MA. Jodi L. Bair of Northborough, MA, Dennis and Steffanie West of Worcester, MA and Richard K. Wright of Bellingham, MA. Always special to Bob was his friend Chris Balian of Woonsocket, RI who helped him in every electrical or mechanical endeavor. He also cherished his time riding with his friend Brian Shaw of Uxbridge.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 7, 2012 at 11:30 AM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main St., Rte. 122, Uxbridge with Br. Kevin Hazard officiating. Visiting hours will be Friday from 10 11:30 AM prior to the funeral service.
