WOONSOCKET â€” Former funeral director Todd Lauzon has been ordered to serve four years in prison for embezzling money from numerous clients who purchased prearranged funeral contracts from him between 2002 and 2009.
Lauzon, 39, was sentenced by Associate Superior Court Judge Netti Vogel on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to 30 counts of embezzlement, said Amy Kempe, spokeswoman for the attorney general.
Vogelâ€™s full sentence was 20 years, with four to serve, and the balance suspended, with probation. She also ordered Lauzon to make $137,000 in restitution to his victims.
