McGair: PawSox manager calls Lucchino's visit to McCoy Stadium 'neat'

PAWTUCKET – You always want to make a good impression whenever a member of hierarchy stops by, which the Pawtucket Red Sox were able to do Wednesday night courtesy of a 7-4 win against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in Game One of their best-of-five opening-round Governor’s Cup series.
With Red Sox president & CEO Larry Lucchino present at McCoy Stadium, the PawSox were able to put their best foot forward and demonstrate winning baseball – two traits that have been MIA for a vast majority of Boston’s 2012 season.
PawSox manager Arnie Beyeler was certainly impressed that a high-ranking Red Sox official took the time out of his busy schedule to check up on the progress down on the farm. Lucchino spent quite a bit of time in Pawtucket’s clubhouse prior to Wednesday’s game and even joined the players on the field as they loosened up in preparation for the 7:05 first pitch.
“He felt very comfortable about things,” said Beyeler. “Whenever a member of the front office comes down, it’s neat that they take the time to come down and see us play.”
