NO. SMITHFIELD- Lorraine J. (Dionne) Sutherland 74, entered into eternal life Monday, September 17th, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Roger M. Sutherland. They celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary on June sixth of this year.
She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Gerard and Alida (Marquis) Dionne.
She was a medical secretary for Cardio-Vascular and Thoracic Associates in Providence for fifteen years. Upon leaving the work force, her true passion was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events. She treasured moments with family and sharing in all their activities, and had a great love of art and travel.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Dr. Donald Sutherland and his wife Regina of Rehoboth, and two daughters; Donna Guay and her husband Thomas of North Smithfield, and Lisa Kuscu and her husband Mustafa of Lincoln. Lorraine also has six cherished grandchildren; Michael Guay, Allison Guay, Sean and Ryan Sutherland, and Lara and Eliz Kuscu. She also leaves two sisters; Muriel St. Martin and Suzanne Dubois, and a brother Gerard Dionne and his wife Louise of FL, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9:00AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Ambrose Church, School St. in Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 PM. All friends and family members are graciously invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers the family has respectfully requested that memorial donations be made to either of the following charities: St. Jude's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142 Memphis, TN 38148, or Fisher House Foundation Inc. 111 Rockville Pike, Suite 420, Rockville, MD 20850-5168.
