Burrillville Farmers Market is No. 1

BURRILLVILLE — The Burrillville Farmers Market was named number one in Rhode Island and also finished in the top 20 for its category nationally in the American Farmland Trust's America’s Favorite Farmers Markets contest, which began June 1 and ended on Sept. 3
This year's contest was expanded to include all 7,175 markets that are listed in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's farmers market directory. The Burrillville Farmers Market came in at number one in the state and at number 20 in its category nationally with a total of 44 votes.
The national online contest had four categories for large, medium, small and mid-size farmers markets. Market size is determined by how many vendors each market has.
