Therese Corbeille

WOONSOCKET- Therese (Forand) Corbeille, 80, a life-long Rhode Islander, passed away peacefully on September 22nd due to complications associated with renal failure at Mt. St. Francis/Trinity Health Center in Woonsocket, RI.
She was born May 9, 1932, the seventh of eight children, to Emile and Leonie (Rainey) Forand. Her siblings Rene, Blanche, Alice, Henry, Albert, Leo and Eugene all preceded her in death.
Therese moved to Manville, RI from Nantucket Island as a baby. It was there that she grew up and eventually met her loving and devoted husband of more than half a century, Donald Corbeille. After many loving years together, Donald preceded Therese in death in 2006. They enjoyed many hobbies together. Therese was a talented seamstress and hand-worker, and among her many passions was her love of dolls. Therese possessed an extensive collection of beautiful dolls, for which she hand-made countless outfits and Donald created beautiful display cabinets. She and Donald loved to garden, and their yard was always filled with beautiful blooms of pink and yellow. In addition to her dolls, crafts, and gardening, Therese's other great passion was her cats -- her constant companions until she could no longer live on her own.
Therese possessed a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, which always increased the joy of spending time with her. She was an excellent judge of character, and had a talent for distilling ideas and details. She was also a generous and caring individual. For many years, she took care of her mother until Leonie passed away in 1981. What she most enjoyed was spending time with her husband and her extended family. Though she and Donald had no children of their own, they always opened their home and hearts to their family and their family's children.
Therese is survived by assorted (great) nieces and (great) nephews. Among those who will miss her most dearly include her goddaughter and great-niece, Joanne (Godin) Audretsch, husband David, and their children, James and Christopher, all of Bloomington, IN and Alexander Audretsch of Seattle, WA; her great-niece Christine (Ducharme) Mattos and husband Thomas, and their children, Ethan and Paige, of East Greenwich, RI; and her great-nephew Bryan Ducharme, wife Cara, and their children, Conner and Riley, of Bentonville, AR.
Her funeral will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Antoine Residence, 10 Rhodes Ave., No. Smithfield. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Rd., Cumberland. Calling hours are omitted.
May she rest in peace alongside her beloved husband.
