WOONSOCKET- Peter P. Rowey 71, resident of Woonsocket passed away September 26, 2012 at the Rhode Island Hospital.
He was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Ralph Sr. & Mary (Higazy) Rowey.
Peter worked for Tanury Industries in Lincoln as a quality controller for many years; previously he worked for the former Miler Electric Co. He was a lifelong Woonsocket resident, he enjoyed history, science, reading, and working in his yard.
He is survived by his brothers, John Rowey, and Anthony Rowey and his wife Fadia all of Woonsocket, He is also survived by his nieces, Mary Ann (Rowey) Tardif and her husband Brian, and Amanda Rowey, a nephew and godson, Anthony AJ Rowey Jr. all of Woonsocket.
He was preceded in death by his brother Ralph Rowey Jr. and his sister in law Judith Rowey.
His funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 am from the Egidio DiPardo & Sons Funeral Home, 75 Harris Ave., Woonsocket with a Service at 10:30 am in St. Elias Melkite Catholic Church, Hamilton St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 pm until 7 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
