Lincoln schools get creative in contacting parents

October 1, 2012

LINCOLN — There was a time in Rhode Island when parents of school age children needed to tune in radio personality Salty Brine for word on whether there would be school on wintery morning.
Those days are over and High School Principal Kevin J. McNamara now has a number of ways to get the word out about school events and weather including his school's Listserv option of directly emailing parents timely school updates.
Parents who sign a form listing their student's name, grade, and their email address can receive an email from McNamara's office on various school topics and upcoming events that they might wish to attend.
The service can also provide parents and guardians with special announcements like an expected closing due to the weather or even important academic information.
