BELLINGHAM- Marion (d'Astous) Grover, 92, of Bellingham, MA passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the St. Camillus Nursing Home, Whitinsville, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Clifford Grover.
Born in St. Damase de Matane, PQ, Canada on August 22, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Rose H. (St. Pierre) d'Astous.
She was the loving mother of Linda Daley and her husband, Robert of Bellingham, MA and the late George Clifford Grover and his wife, Aline of Milford, MA. She leaves her cherished five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of George d'Astous and his wife, Germaine of Northampton, MA, Zennon d'Astous and his wife. Barbara of Worthington, MA, Sr. Rita d'Astous, SNJM, and Sr. Zennon d'Astous, SNJM, both of Albany, NY, and the late Rose Giroux and Elsie Tetreault.
A resident of Bellingham for 46 years, formerly of Holyoke, MA and when she came from Canada, she resided in Huntington, MA and worked at the Parish Church. Together with her husband, she owned and operated the Circle C.G. Farm Campground in Bellingham from 1967 to 1990. She was a member of the MACO, ARVC, BBA, Museum of Family Camping, Pioneers of Family Camping and the Westfield Riding Club. Some of her greatest joys were gardening, competing in horse shows with her beloved white stallion pony "Willie", meeting and entertaining people from all over the world who came to stay at their campground. She was a devoted communicant of St. Brendan's Church. Devoted to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Brendan's Church, Hartford Ave., Bellingham. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham.
Visiting hours are on Tuesday, October 2nd from 5 to 8PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Marion Grover may be sent to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, 442 South Demazenod Drive, Belleville, IL 62223 would be appreciated.
