NORTH SMITHFIELD- Ronald A. Comire, Sr., 67, of North Smithfield, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Jean L. (Martel) Comire, whom he married September 27, 1998.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Aime Comire and Beatrice R. (Remillard) Comire Motte.
Ronald was a graduate of Woonsocket High School and attended barbers school in Worcester, MA. He owned Ron's Barber Stylist, Cumberland, for over 40 years. Ronald was a member of the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks #365 and the Cercle Laurier. He loved to cook.
Besides his wife Jean, Ronald leaves his son, Robbie Comire of Woonsocket; two daughters, Brenda Belcourt and Tina Therien, both of Woonsocket; two stepsons, Arthur Silva of Woonsocket and Timothy Silva of Blackstone, MA; his stepdaughter, Donna Callei of Woonsocket; six brothers, Gerald Comire of Woonsocket, John Comire of Johnston, Robert Comire of Cumberland, Joel Comire of Woonsocket, Keith Comire of Cohoes, NY and James Motte of Long Beach, CA; four sisters, Patricia Huguenin of North Smithfield, Jeanne Kelbaugh of Woonsocket, Elizabeth Griffin of Hopkinton and Michelle Nickerson of Litchfield, NH; twelve grandchildren; six great grandsons; many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald A. Comire, Jr. and two brothers, Daniel and William Comire.
His funeral will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Holy Family Church, 414 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Calling hours are Friday, October 5, 2012 from 4 until 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907 or to the North Smithfield Animal Shelter, 281 Quaker Hwy, No. Smithfield, RI 02896.
