WOONSOCKET- Rene A. Lorange, 82, of Woonsocket, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in St. Antoine Residence, No. Smithfield. He was the husband of Claire B. (Daignault) Lorange, whom he married November 26, 1953.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Stanislas and Philia (Lemay) Lorange.
Rene was a truck driver for B & W Express for twenty-seven years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the Providence Teamsters Local 251. Rene was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church and a member of St. Joseph's Veterans Association.
Besides his wife, Rene leaves four sons, Rene Lorange of Milford, MA and Robert, Denis and Richard Lorange, all of Woonsocket; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Normand Lorange.
His funeral, beginning with visitation at 8:30 AM will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Charles Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bryan's Pantry, 204 No. Main St., Woonsocket, RI 02895.
