BURRILLVILLE- Edward C. George, 85, of Sayles Ave. Pascoag, died Sunday Oct. 7, 2012 in Home & Hospice Center, Providence. He was the husband of the late Jeannette F. (Gabrielson) George and Katherine (Pytel) George.
Born in Slatersville he was the son of the late Prudentia and Mary (Silva) George.
He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a member of LeClaire, Koslick, Logan, Bassett VFW Post 6342, a past Commander of American Legion Post 63 of North Smithfield, member of Between the Cracks, and a former member of Dev's Men's Club. He retired from Zambarano Hospital after working there for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Robert George of Coventry, John George of Lincoln, seven daughters, Donna Landry of Harrisville, Carlene Beckwith and Sandra Trimble both of Pascoag, Brenda Allen of Putnam, CT, Robin Plante of Wareham, MA, Lori Wertz of East Sandwich, MA, and Gayle George of Ashaway, fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Prudente, John, and Joseph George and Rose Pacheco.
Calling hours will be held for Edward at the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave. Pascoag, on Thursday Oct. 11, 2012 from 5 to 8 PM. Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to; Between the Cracks, P.O. Box 468, Burrillville, RI 02830 or Home & Hospice Care of RI, 1085 No. Main St., Providence, RI 02904.
