NORTH SMITHFIELD- Edith Harrison 97, resident of North Smithfield, passed away October 5, 2012 at the Friendly Home in Woonsocket.
She was born in Glendale, a daughter of the late John & Selma (Simoneau) Harrison.
Edith worked many years in the textile industry as a worsted mender, retiring from the former Worcester Textile Co. after more than 20 years; she fully retired at the age of 91 from the Senior Services after 20 years.
She is survived by her nephews, Paul Harrison of Lincoln, James Giordano and his wife Rose of AZ, and David Harrison of Rocky Hill, CT. She is also survived by two great nieces and three great nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her brothers, John E. and George Harrison, a sister, Selma Giordano and a nephew John T. Harrison.
Her funeral will be held Friday at 9am from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home 445 Greenville Rd. North Smithfield with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in All Saints Church in Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Harrisville. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 5-7pm.
