Lucille C. Sherman

WOONSOCKET- Lucille C. (Delaurier) Sherman, 83, of Privilege St., and long time Blackstone native, died October 9, 2012 in The Friendly Home, Woonsocket, with family by her side. She was married to the late John R. Sherman.
Born in Milford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Jonas and Catherine (Monahan) Delaurier.
Mrs. Sherman worked as an assembler for the Raytheon Company, Ashland, MA, which later became the General Electric Company, retiring in 1992. She was previously employed in several local mills. She was a communicant of St. Theresa's Church, Blackstone, and was an active participant in the Blackstone and Woonsocket Senior Centers. Lucille enjoyed bingo, singing as a member of the Waterview Wobblers, and was an advocate against Animal Cruelty.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Straube and her husband John of Oakland, RI; a brother, Eugene Delaurier of Mapleville; two grandchildren, Michael Crepeau of Chicago, IL, and Loreley Roy of Mohegan, RI and two great grandchildren Ayla and Kira Roy. She was the sister of the late Leo Delaurier, Therese Binette, Dorothy Kiley, Florence Lavigne and Lorraine Delaurier.
Her funeral will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 at 11AM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone. Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5PM.
