MILLVILLE, MA- Romeo G. Ethier, 77, of Thayer St., died October 21, 2012 at home with his family. He was the husband of Mary Jean (Couture) Ethier.
Born in Millville, MA he was the son of the late Mederic and Cora (Gagnon) Ethier. He was a resident of Millville since 1970.
Mr. Ethier was employed as an electrician for Therien Electric Company for many years and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was the former Animal Control Officer for the towns of Millville and Blackstone for thirty years and a part time Electrical Inspector for the towns of Blackstone, Millville and Uxbridge for many years. Mr. Ethier was an Army Veteran serving in both Korea and Japan during the Korean War Conflict.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah and her husband Martin Lagor of Woonsocket, Denise and her husband Stephen Zariczny of Woonsocket and Donna and her husband Mark Albin of West Townshend, VT; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two sisters, Jeannette Lavallee of West Wareham and Rose Anna Ethier of No. Smithfield. He was the brother of the late Lionel, Emile, Normand, Ernest, Paul, and Alfred Ethier, Rita Salois, Gertrude Cournoyer and Rose Alma Ethier.
His funeral will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Augustine's Church, 17 Lincoln St., Millville. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in St. Jean the Baptist Cemetery, Wrentham Rd., Bellingham. Calling hours are Friday from 4 - 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Augustine's Church.
