Arrigo Gobbi

WOONSOCKET- Arrigo "Rico" Gobbi, 91, formerly of Coolidge Ave. died Sunday October 29, 2012 in the Friendly Home. He was the husband of the late Emily (Verni) Gobbi.
Born in Remini, Italy, son of the late Joseph and Gina (SantaCattherina) Gobbi.
Mr. Gobbi worked as a weaver for JoAnn Plush in Pawtucket, for several years and for Bella Construction in asphalt prior to retiring.
He was Past President of the Italian Workingmen's Club.
Rico, loved the art of making homemade wine and enjoying it with family and friends, and enjoyed the several times he and his wife with to Los Vegas to celebrate New Year's.
Mr. Gobbi was involved for several years in the preparation and cooking for the biannual Pokeeta at the Italian Workingmen's Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Emily Gobbi and Linda M. Abramek, both of Woonsocket. Four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Friday at 9 A.M. from the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Anthony Church, Greene St. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, Mass. Relatives and friends are invited; calling hours are Thursday Nov. 1, 2012 from 5-8 P.M.
