Alan R. Kane, Sr.

WOONSOCKET- Alan R. Kane, Sr., 61, of Woonsocket, RI passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation Oak Hill in Pawtucket, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Claire T. (Blais) Kane.
Born in Woonsocket on November 13, 1950, he was the son of the late Woodrow and Doris (Beaubien) Kane.
He was the loving father of Alan R. Kane and his wife, Belinda of Colebrook, NH, Tara L. Gray and her husband, Tom of Uxbridge, MA, and step-father of Jean Poirier of Bellingham, MA, Annette Ide of Charlestown, RI, Pamela Dumais of Woonsocket, RI and the late Bernie Gadwah, and his former wife the late Denise (Roy) Puopolo. He leaves his cherished 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was the brother of David Kane of Woonsocket, RI, Carol Oliver and her husband, James of Foxboro, MA and the late Ralph, Dennis, Richard and Woodrow Kane.
A resident of Woonsocket, formerly of Bellingham and he was a graduate of Bellingham High School. Alan owned and operated Al's Cleaning Service in Woonsocket for many years. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and received the National Defense Service Medal. Alan played lead guitar and sang in the band "Southern Comfort" with is brothers. He enjoyed fishing, his motorcycle and trips to Cape Cod. He will be greatly missed.
