RIPTA riders wait for their bus as the first snowflakes of the season begin falling in Woonsocket Tuesday. A Winter Weather Advisory was posted by the National Weather Service for northwest Rhode Island forecasting 1-4 inches of snow before changing to freezing rain and rain Wednesday night.
