John M. Tempest

NORTH SMITHFIELD- John M. Tempest, 61, of North Smithfield, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 after a brief illness at his home.
Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Raymond D. and Marguerite (Lee) Tempest.
He was the loving husband of Nancy A. Spencer.
Besides his wife Nancy, he is survived by his two brothers, Gordon Tempest of Cumberland and Raymond Tempest of Providence, his four sisters, Donna Folds of Woonsocket, Barbara Small of Pelham Manor, NY, Colleen Monteiro of Woonsocket and Gail Rochfort of Foster; his uncle Jack Tempest of No. Kingstown; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored.
John was Vice President of Sales for Unigraphic of Woburn, MA. He was a 1970 graduate of Woonsocket High School and attended Bryant University. John had a long and successful career in the printing industry, participating and serving on many boards including the Printing Industries Alliance, the Franklin Committee, the Advertising and Production Club, Idealliance and the New York University Board of Management and Technology Program. He was the recipient of the Good Scout Award, awarded to members of the printing industry for good Citizenship, given by the Boy Scouts of Greater New York.
His funeral will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 190 No. Main St., Woonsocket. Calling hours are Sunday from 3-7 PM in the funeral home.
