WOONSOCKET- Constant L. "Larry" Petrin, 78, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully answering the Lord's call with family by his side on Monday, November 13, 2012 at the Trinity Health Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine A. (Letendre) Petrin.
Born in Woonsocket on September 5, 1934, he was the son of the late Arthur O. and Olivine Petrin.
He was the loving father of Marc G. Petrin, Aline A. Petrin, Denise T. Lambert and her husband, David, all of Woonsocket. He leaves his cherished grandchildren, Heather Petrin, Richard Biron, Nicholas Biron, Jessica Biron and his great-granddaughter Emily Ratsakongsy.
He was a resident of Woonsocket, formerly of Bellingham and was politically involved in the Town of Bellingham serving as Tax Assessor, on the Housing Authority, Sewer Commission and other offices. He was a union worker for Chrysler for 20 years retiring in 1985. Larry owned and operated the former Blackstone Market on Main Street in Blackstone for several years.
He was devoted to the church and was a communicant of the former Assumption Church in Bellingham and St. Theresa Church in Blackstone.
He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Navy and received the Navy Occupation Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He was a devoted Red Sox and Patriots fan. His greatest love and joys were spending time with his family and grandchildren, and playing cards and watching the games with them. Pepere will be greatly missed.
Funeral will be held on Monday, November 19th at 9:00AM from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 So. Main St. (Rte 126), Bellingham, MA with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun St., Blackstone, MA. Interment will follow at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are on Sunday, November 18th from 1-4PM at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. To sign guest book visit
