BURRILLVILLE- Montmagny, Normand R. 87, of Pascoag, Rhode Island, formerly a long time resident of Coventry, Rhode Island, passed away on November 13, 2012 at Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag, RI. He was the beloved husband of the late Gertrude (Cote) Montmagny who died last year.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Alfred and Elmire (Levesque) Montmagny.
Normand worked hard to provide for his family and during his lifetime was a literal jack of all trades. He was employed as a stationary engineer with the Providence Washington Insurance Company for over twenty five years. He was an avid camper and loved a party. He was a generous man and would do anything to help both friends and strangers. He was an active member of the former Christ Episcopal Church in Coventry before moving to Pascoag.
He was the beloved father of Jacqueline Zahn and her husband Conrad, of Pascoag, Jeanne Montmagny of Pascoag and Ronald Montmagny of Concord New Hampshire. He was the loving Pepere of Joshua and Rebecca Zahn and Elizabeth and Benjamin Montmagny. Normand was the brother of the late Evelyn Bouthillier, Blanche Maynard, Doris Pieri, Roland and Oscar Montmagny. He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews and long-time friends, Everett and Dotty Hudson and their family.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 23rd at 11:00 AM, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1 Smith Avenue, Greenville, RI. A collation will follow.
