WOONSOCKET- Joseph L. Charron, 89, of Robinson St., died November 16, 2012 at Trinity Health & Rehabilitation Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Constance N. (Grochowski) Charron whom he married May 25, 1991.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Norbert and Alexina Charron.
He worked 33 years as a yarn set for the former Draper Corporation of Hopedale, MA. Joseph served the United States Army during WWII. Joseph was a lifetime member of the Elks and was the Elks "man of the year" 1974.
Joseph's family would like to thank Trinity Health & Rehabilitation Center for all of their love and care.
He is survived by two stepsons, Richard Matte and his wife Karen of Cumberland, and William Piette and his wife Christina of Woonsocket; his stepdaughter, Lori-Ann Sowell of Providence; his brother, Lorenzo Charron of Barrington; his goddaughter Frances Chabot and her husband Andre of Manchester, CT; ten step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. He was the brother of the late Ted Charron and Agnes Baril.
Private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St., Woonsocket. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the Alzheimer's Association-RI Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence RI 02906.
