Lonsdale Drive-In featured in new Lincoln ornament

November 25, 2012

LINCOLN — The holiday season has officially arrived and Richard DiMasse and Dave Sale are hoping it will help local efforts to preserve a local one-room schoolhouse with purchases of this year’s Lincoln collectible ornament.
The tradition of creating a holiday ornament of a local landmark was started by the Lincoln Citizens Celebration Committee 17 years ago as a part of the town’s observances for its 125th anniversary.
The committee used ornament sales to help fund the music events it put on in each village of town and has continued to make ornaments to fund other needed projects in the years since, according to DiMasse and Sale.
This year’s edition of the ornament depicts the former Lonsdale Twin Drive-In in a colorful rendering of the theater’s north entrance sign, three-lane ticket gate and large parking area for cars and the movie screen in the background.
